Arnd Christian Müller lives and works since 2000 in Beijing. He is a German trained Cabinet Maker and a graduated Interior Architect with a complete work experience since 1997 in his field. Prior to his move to China he was teaching interior design in Germany. Arnd’s work experience includes furniture design, exhibition and event planning as well as interior design, architecture and landscaping projects for foreign and local Chinese companies and private clients.
In 2007 he founded “Momentum”, his own registered studio for Interior Design & Architecture. Working result orientated, keeping budgets, timing and quality constantly in mind is a key success point for design consultancy services. Teaming up with different, specialised and qualified construction companies fitting the nature of the project ensures the quality and excellence clients expect. Together with clients, dedicated third parties consultants as well as professional construction managers and their companies innovative, yet functional and stunning solutions are tailor made for each project from scratch. All incoming projects are results of recommendations by satisfied clients. Momentum’s professional attitude on design, detail, material choice and site work is based on the concept to reflect all sensory qualities: To consider our clients needs and take care on how we experience the space and it’s surrounding, materials, colours and its furniture.’Qualia’ is a concept in philosophy, the sensory qualities that form all our individual sensations. Take a banana for example: Structure, size, colour and the taste of the fruit are common to us. Once we see it for real in its natural environment on the tree, with its blossoms we can further add the sensation of the odour of the plant and its natural ambience: We can experience the sounds of the surrounding nature and the local climatic conditions. With all these information we now have the complete experience of a banana, a single one missing, and we just can experience a part of It. All qualities we experience in life together are ‘Qualia’.
